Refuse collection is made available to all residential homes within the Village. This service is contracted through Flood Brothers Disposal. All refuse should be stored in the cart provided for by Flood Brothers. Residential refuse and recycling collection occurs every Wednesday. Please place all items for collection at the curb by 6:00 a.m. Wednesday mornings. Residents should place refuse carts out no earlier than the night before collection and it should be easily accessible to the collector. Their customer service number is (630) 261-0578. Recycling Collection
Items should be placed in the cart with the yellow lid. If you do not have a recycling cart, please call Flood Brothers at (630)261-0578.
Bulk Item Pick-Up
Bulk items are items that are too large to fit in a 65-gallon tote, or weigh more than 60 pounds. These items will be collected at no charge through a special collection arranged by a resident with a Flood Brothers customer service representative. The following items are considered bulk items: mattresses, box springs, tables, chairs, bookcases, and other furniture. The weight limit on bulk items is 60 pounds. Please contact Flood Brothers customer service department at (630) 261-0578 to schedule a bulk item collection.
Electronic Recycling Through Kane County Recycles
Certain items can be brought to the Village of West Dundee's Public Works facility located at 900 Angle Tarn. Click here to see their hours and accepted materials. Note that monitors and TVs/televisions have a cost to recycle. All other electronics are free to drop off.
Household Hazardous Waste Home Collection Program Through Kane County Recycles
Kane County is offering home collection of household hazardous waste for residents in eligible areas. Click here to view accepted and non accepted materials.

Moving
If you are moving, please contact the Flood Brothers customer service department to terminate service and remove any Flood Brothers equipment provided. They are available during office hours at (630) 261-0578.
Holidays
If a holiday falls on a weekday or a Sunday, and your regularly scheduled pickup is on or after the holiday, your pickup will be delayed by one day.
Flood Brothers does not collect on the following holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
