Wine Down Wednesdays

5:00PM at The Depot, 319 N. River St., East Dundee

Wine Down Wednesdays is a wine lovers dream. The Village of East Dundee will be hosting its third Wine Down Wednesday on August 27. Six Spanish wines from various regions in Spain will be tasted. A $5.00 tasting fee per three wines sampled will be charged. Wines sampled will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Those attending the event will be entertained by the musical talents of an instrumental flamenco guitarist accompanied by a professional flamenco dancer that will perform in colorful dance attire periodically throughout the evening. Spanish flamenco dance originates from the region of Andalusia in southern Spain and is an energetic dance known for its sweeping arm movements and rhythmic feet stomping. Popular at the first and second Wine Down Wednesdays were the hand-painted Wine Down Wednesday wine glasses. Each glass has been individually hand-painted for the event by Artisticology. The glasses are available for purchase and will be the third glass in a series of four. Wine Down Wednesdays is sponsored by The Anvil Club, Payroll Vault and Artisicology and will feature three dimensional artists demonstrating their artistic abilities throughout the evening. For those that would like to try their creative talents, pre-registration for a group art class is also available for the evening. If interested, please contact Tricia at Artisticology at (847)707-4433 or tricia@artisicology.com. All are welcome to end each summer month downtown at the East Dundee Depot August 27 and September 24 from 5 p.m. to dusk

HERITAGE FEST

6:00PM - 11:00PM at East and West Dundee

Our focus and theme is to celebrate our heritage and founding through food, song and dance of the times. New this year to the downtown area, East Dundee has partnered with Immanuel Lutheran Church to create Deutschfest, a celebration of our German heritage. We'll also have an international food tent that will offer food, desserts and drinks representative of other ethnic groups as well. By popular demand we will be bringing the Carnival back to Jackson Street and various musical entertainment acts that represent various ethnic groups will be performed from the Depot main stage throughout the weekend. To enhance the downtown presence, besides the Deutschfest Tent and International Food Tent, River Street will include a Community and Business Faire, the Depot Market (Sat morn), Farmers Market (Sun morn) and an Antique (Model T Fords) Car show (Sun morn). To take advantage of "The Depot," we'll be offering a trackless train to transport families to and from Bartels park where we have created a "Fundfest." All Dundee area elementary schools are encouraged to participate in Fundfest, featuring a live magic show followed by the KidBucks game show that will give schools an opportunity to raise funds for their school year! A school representative will have fun on stage while qualifying for a chance in the Money Booth! All monies collected in the Money Booth will go to the school!
