6:00PM - 11:00PM at East and West Dundee
Our focus and theme in East Dundee is to celebrate our heritage and founding through food, song and dance of the times. New this year to the downtown area, East Dundee has partnered with Immanuel Lutheran Church to create Deutschfest, a celebration of our German heritage. We'll also have an international food tent that will offer food, desserts and drinks representative of other ethnic groups as well. By popular demand we will be bringing the Carnival back to Jackson Street and various musical entertainment acts that represent various ethnic groups will be performed from the Depot main stage throughout the weekend.
To enhance the downtown presence, besides the Deutschfest Tent and International Food Tent, River Street will include a Community and Business Faire, the Depot Market (Sat morn), Farmers Market (Sun morn) and an Antique (Model T Fords) Car show (Sun morn). To take advantage of "The Depot," we'll be offering a trackless train to transport families to and from Bartels park where we have created a "Fundfest." All Dundee area elementary schools and organizations are encouraged to participate in Fundfest, featuring a live magic show followed by the KidBucks game show that will give schools an opportunity to raise funds for their school year! A school representative will have fun on stage while qualifying for a chance in the Money Booth! All monies collected in the Money Booth will go to the school or organization!
Celebrating 17 years in the Dundee area, the annual Heritage Fest will be held September 12-14 in downtown East and West Dundee. A local favorite along the Fox River, Heritage Fest is free to attend and provides activities for all ages. The fun begins on Thursday, with the opening of the carnival prior to the kick-off of the weekend’s activities. Live bands and entertainment begin on Friday night, along with a fantastic fireworks display over the Fox River at 8pm. Saturday and Sunday bring something for everyone, including juried craft and antique fairs, car shows, depot and farmers markets, business expo, baggo tournament, yoga instruction in the park and the annual Dundee Crown High School Homecoming parade. A broad menu of food and drink options are available throughout the weekend, including Emmett’s specialty craft beer, and new this year, Immanuel Lutheran’s Deutschfest Tent serving traditional German food. To further reflect on Dundee’s heritage, an International Food Tent has been added and represents various culinary tastes of Europe that is accompanied by complimentary music from the nearby Depot stage. There are numerous activities for families with young children, including rides on a trackless train, magic shows, Kids Bucks game show, large earth-moving equipment, scarecrow decorating, old-fashioned games and races and children’s entertainer RudiToonz
