President & Board of Trustees

The Village of East Dundee is a home rule municipality governed by a President-Trustee form of government consisting of seven members. The President and six Trustees as well as the Clerk are elected at large from the Village in staggered four year terms. The Village Board generally meets on the first and third Monday of each month.

The Village Board holds regular meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month, and Committee of the Whole meetings the second Monday of each month, at 6:00 at Village Hall (120 Barrington Avenue). In the event of cancellation of a scheduled Board meeting, notice will be posted inside Village Hall in the display case outside the front office and on the on-line calendar.

Regular Board Meetings enable the Board to vote on proposals while Committee of the Whole meetings are held for the purpose of Board discussion only.

Members of the Board serve as liaisons to various Village Departments, Commissions, governmental bodies and the community at large. Below are the current liaison assignments members in asterisk (*) signify the Committee Chair.

Important Information about the Village's Residential Facade Improvement Program

East Dundee officials have announced the return of the Residential Facade Improvement Program for the 2017- 2018 fiscal year. Property owners of single-family, owner-occupied residential properties within the Village of East Dundee can submit a completed application from January 1 through March 31, 2017. East Dundee has allocated funds for this program from video gaming revenues and approved projects will be reimbursed up to a limit of 50% of all eligible services or $5,000, whichever is less. Examples of projects eligible for the program include new siding; fences; tuck pointing; pitched roofs and improvements to front patios and walkways. Work must be completed by March 31, 2018 in order to receive reimbursement. Upon submission, all applications will be reviewed by the Village Staff and Board and require strict adherence to the guidelines of the program. Click here for application and guidelines.

Electronic Recycling for East Dundee Residents

Electronic Recycling is provided to East Dundee residents at no charge. Residents can drop off old TVs, computers, printers, scanners, VCRs, etc. at the Public Works facility located at 448 Elgin Ave from 7am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday. Items MUST be placed inside the dumpster. For all other Kane County residents, please go to www.countyofkane.org/recycling for drop off locations. Please note the dumping of non-electronic items is prohibited and will be under video surveillance. Proof of residency at location will be required for drop off. Thank you for helping keep East Dundee clean!
